Net Neutrality

I know this is a complex issue as is noted in this post on how Net Neutrality has become a partisan issue.

Ultimately, though this is about whether or not the companies that have control over the “pipes” that provide internet traffic to both suppliers of information (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Ebay…) and users of information (i.e. the average users meaning you and me) can charge a different rate depending on their own criteria.

I think the answer is no. To put it stronger, I think the answer is HELL NO!

My reasons are many but some of them are:

  • The government subsidized these companies that have the “pipes” which means that we the users subsidized these companies. This means the companies have a responsibility back to the public which they won’t deliver on unless mandated to.
  • Politicians aren’t listening to their true constituents, us the voters, but instead are listening to large corporations who make large money donations to their political needs. This shows how corrupt the “partisans” are who are supporting the non-neutral stance. Vote them out of office.

We need to keep this resource. Contact your Senator because that is where the next battle is on this topic.
