I went to a woodworking store today to get some stuff that I thought would be relatively inexpensive. I mean none of it was big power tools or anything so I should be ok.
My list was comprised of some items that made sense from a podcast I started listening to a while ago called Matts Basement Woodshop. He presents, usually weekly, shows on a variety of topics that are interesting to listen to. The last one was on 4 favorite tools. It was really about 4 tools that most wood woorkers should have but tend to overlook. 2 of them made sense and so I added them to my list.
One was a wood rasp and another was a combination square. I’m a big believer in buying good quality though so neither were cheap (in fact I have a very cheap and nearly unusable combo square already).
It was just surprising at how much this stuff cost (along with a few other things) because I wound up spending several hundred dollars. I hope that I get the value out of them.
