I’m know I’m late to this one but here it is anyway. I found this interesting review of the Microsoft license for the new Vista License.
Here are Wendy’s seven “features” that cause users pain in the license:
- Self-limiting software
- Vanishing functionality through invalidation
- Removal of media capabilities
- Problem-solving prohibited
- Limited mobility
- One transfer onlyand a bonus,
- Restrictions on your rights to use MPEG-4 video
She goes into detail on each of these items and does a great job of it.
It’s also worth reading some of the comments on the post too as they go into some other intersting facets of this license and how they really are out to gouge the user for more license and fees.
