I’ve got a couple of projects I’m trying to get accomplished over the next few months.
One is to replace a few windows.? The windows in my boys bedrooms are more than 20 years old and don’t open well (all wood) and also fog up every morning.? The windows in my gym are casement windows and open outward and I want sliding windows.? They also get wet on some mornings (not the same way my boys room do but still…).? I think I want to get fiberglass windows.? Vinyl doesn’t paint so fiberglass seems the best option.
My other project is to fix some home automation issues.? We have had X-10 for lighting control for a long long time.? It’s never been reliable.? Over the last few years though it seems worse which has probably been due to a new furnace making too much line noise.? I’ve decided to try UPB which is a digital communication scheme which is reportedly 99% or more reliable.? I’ve got to have some mods set up for my alarm system which communicates to the whole thing too so it’s more than just replacing switches and outlets.
Maybe by Christmas I’ll have it all done.
