After a big discussion, Kathy and I have decided to look into getting a generator.? Our house was without power for 3 1/2 days (as compared to 4 1/2 in the last big storm).? The temp in the house got down to 40 degrees F – yes! that was the inside temp.
After some calls and a bit of research, I found that I need to find out from the gas company how much extra capacity on my gas meeter I have so that we can determine the possible size of generator we can have.
Unfortunately, the power folks have been slow to get their call centers back up after the wind storm so I haven’t been able to get that information.? I hope to get it next week and then we can make some decisions.
