Parallels – issues with latest RC

Ok, remember 8 or so posts ago? I was talking about stability and had to rebuild my system to get it back to a great state. Now I’m very cautious about adding apps, tools, and such to my system. I make sure that I have a clean uninstall path in case I run into something that causes instability.

Well, it turns out that the latest RC of Parallels (see a forum discussion about the new build – not the instability) caused the exact instability that I was having before. In fact, in recalling my system before I had Parallels installed before but could find not posts on any support forum saying it was the guilty party. I uninstalled it and my system went back to being completely stable.

Parallels has such great possibility so I sure hope that they can address this problem.

P.S. Briefly, my stability issues were that applications would crash and need to be restarted. Mail.app was the one that crashed the most. Firefox was the next most. A new thing that happened this time that I did not see the last time is that the Dock would disappear and reboot. In fact, it would loose icons on the dock when this would happen. When the apps would crash, I wouldn’t lose any data but it was really annoying and really not tolerable.
