OS X 10.5 Leopard

I’ve ordered my copy of OS X 10.5 Leopard for my two Mac’s (a MacPro and an older non-intel Powerbook).  I’m very excited about it.  It’s not earth shattering or anything, I think but they look like they have a bunch of cool things in it.

A new updated Mail.app, a new Dock, an updated Finder, and a whole new backup process called Time Machine are just some of the things that have peaked my interest.  I already really like OS X 10.4.xx so as long as they keep it up Apple will keep me as a happy customer.

Of course, they have done some things recently with some other products that make me believe they have lost sight of how to make customers love them.  I’m also an iPod Touch owner (why didn’t they just call this the iTouch?  I mean, really!) and they have made it impossible or nearly impossible to add applications to this platform.  They have also artificially limited this product to not have the same apps as  the iPhone (mail, a writable calendar, maps, stock, weather).  This is a sign of a company that really doesn’t understand customers as much as they think they do.

Hopefully though, they have gotten back to it with Leopard.  I’m looking forward to it.
