My normal system is a Mac Pro with a nice 24″ monitor and a smaller second monitor. It’s a killer system. Now that I’m going on a trip though, I need to get an older PowerBook up to snuff. It’s pretty painful given what I’m used to. The screen size and it’s limitations are bad though I must say spaces mitigate it a bit (thanks to that new feature!). The performance of the system is another (due to the processors and the memory) which is something I can’t really do anything (no Leopard improvements help here). Of course the core of getting the system ready is moving data over and setting up accounts and such. I must say for some of the account setup it was simple stuff (thanks again to some improvement on Leopards .Mac syncing).
I’m close to done now though I’ve got to verify that everything is working. That is what tomorrow will be for.
