I got a new video camera today. I still need to play with it some more to give it my complete verdict. It is a Panasonic HDC-SD5 which uses SD-HC memory instead of tapes, hard drives for the movies. It is also an HD camera doing true HD video. In my sample below, you will really only notice that it is wide screen because it is processed down a bunch for the interweb. I’m still not sure of all the process options or non-options of getting media from the camera to the computer for editing but the standard mechanism using a USB cable seems fast and works fine.
