Kathy is now at home though getting her home was interesting…
Over the weekend, the weather people were constantly predicting icy and snowy weather and while it was very cold, it never snowed. In fact, both Saturday and Sunday turned out to be gorgeous days – sunny, clear, though cold and crisp.
So when they predicted more snow on Sunday Night into Monday, they were a little timid and I thought “nope, not gonna happen.”. Well, they under predicted and I was clearly wrong. At my house, we got about 4, maybe 5 inches. The school district closed the schools for the day which meant in order to go pick up Kathy that I needed to find a safe place for the boys to be. I arranged for them to go over to Kathy’s folks.
The drive to Kathy’s folks was quite harrowing. The roads were icy and slick and while I was driving cautiously there were lots of people around me that weren’t which was what made the ride scary. In fact, one of the drivers was a Super Shuttle van so I’m glad I was picking up Kathy. We got to Kathy’s folks house and got the boys settled in and off I went to the Airport. The roads didn’t really clear up till I was really close to the freeways. Once on the freeways though, the roads were great.
Kathy’s flight was in almost 30 minutes early (I was there early too so she didn’t have to wait). The roads had cleared up even more by the time we got to Kathy’s folks to pick up the boys though inside our housing development it was still pretty bad.
School looks like its back on today so Kathy can recupe and we can reconnect!
